How can I make my own UN red wall ... not even?

Ok, so I painted my room Ruby Red (or at least one wall) and I thought Should I focus on small sections ... I have only to find that smaller sections that do the wall are all uneven shades red ........ So how can I even out? should I start over?

I just painted my dining room red and it took 4 (!) Layers to obtain yet. She kept looking mottled. But after I went three more times it looks fantasic. Let dry between each layer, then repainted the whole (not only unequal parts), let dry and repeat until it looks fantastic.
